Q: What if my question is outside your legal practice areas?
A: I don’t know everything, and will be the first to admit it. Depending on the complexity of the problem and the particular area of law, I may still be able to help. Also, at our firm we have attorneys with a wide variety of expertise that may be able to help. If we can’t help you, however, I will help you find a trustworthy, dependable attorney to address your particular needs.
Q: Aren’t lawyers just part of the problem?
A: My view is that a good lawyer should be part of the solution. Unfortunately our profession has not always lived up to the high ethical standards we should. I can promise you, however, that I will always strive to work for the best interest of the client, even if that means I won’t make anything. The end goal is to solve problems and create value. If I do either, I hope the solution is worthy of fair remuneration.
Q: What if I can’t afford to hire a lawyer?
A: Depending on your issue, you may not be able to afford not to. The key is to find a trustworthy attorney that understands your situation. Flat fees, contingency fees, and other alternative billing arrangements can help you to get the legal services you need, but may not be able to afford.
Q: What if I just have a quick question?
A: Initial consultations are generally free, and if the problem can be solved with that, then there should be no cost to you. However, depending on the situation, a quick question can have unforeseen and serious consequences that may need further work. You’re best bet is to contact me and see what the best way is to solve your problem.
